Delonix regia, the flame tree, is a species of flowering plant in the bean
family Fabaceae, subfamily Caesalpinioideae. It is noted for its fern-like
leaves and flamboyant display of flowers. In many tropical parts of the world
it is grown as an ornamental tree popularly called as "Purple
Gulmohar". The moment I come out of my house, on my way to office daily,
this tree gives me a colorful welcome.
Immediately followed by couple of flower shops having varied sizes of garlands,
plant-nursery showcasing and welcoming again by varied colors.
This was not enough, a long path-full of Bogan-Vel gives picturesque greetings
too. On my way to office, almost half a km is full of Bogan-Vel of all possible
colors. All these fresh looks and colors give me spectacular welcome every day,
without fail, consistently. OMG, how much to learn from all these trees,
without expectations and say, these flowers keep welcoming all commuters.
As the name indicates, I was under impression, that Bogan-Vel is like climber /
vel (in Marathi) but all these vel on our office road is grown up into giant
trees. Big thanks for bright prismatic welcome daily.
