Six monthly rituals...

Ohhh, me and my beloved gang, we followed it religiously for so many years, and hence I am able to write about it today, after many years now. Big thanks to my gang for creating those “out of this world’s” memories, tiny but awesome, indeed.

Being a teacher at the college where semester pattern is followed, I used to buy few new dresses during the semester break as a preparation for the new semester, just to give myself and my students a fresh beginning. To select these dresses for me, I used to go all the way to Tulsibagh, as there were many shops with wide range of dress materials available and “cherry on cake” was in the same building on top floors were range of tailors who used to stitch dresses in 1-2 hours max. Wow. My gang members were me and my kidooos. It was their duty to pick few dress materials each for me and from that I used to select finally. When they are on their job, I used to enjoy window shopping. Just in case my son observed that I am stuck at a specific dress material for long time and I may buy that, he used to come and whisper in my ears cutely that “mom don’t buy this, one of my teacher is having the same dress and it looks ugly later, please”. OMG. I used to love it tremendously.

So after giving dresses for stitching our gang used to head towards our first stop Chitales, then shopping at Tulshibagh, Kavre Ice crème, back to dresses, and then home. Wow, loved it.

My kids used to feel so privileged that mom loves to wear dresses selected by them. And I always enjoyed buying from their choice as my job was made very easy due to their presence and selection, I used to feel very high as both of them used to think about me, which color will suit me, which is the new style in the market, which once I don’t have etc.. Superb time spent indeed.
