Honking.... why?

I was waiting for my friend to pick me up at one of the busy squares (chowk) of Baner Road, Pune, at the peak office hours, around 8.30am. I was waiting for her I guess for hardly 10 minutes or so, but during that time, I felt as if I will be deaf soon, due to horriblest and constant sound pollution. OMG. Irrespective of foreign posh brands of car, latest model, age etc. there was horrible honks everywhere, by almost everyone. Why? What is the hurry? I can understand if the illiterate bus / truck drivers honk, but what about the learned people?

On top of these honks, "cherry on cake" was the most terrifying sounds of all (completely not maintained, old) vegetable tempos, garbage tempos, tum-tums etc. OMG.

Absolutely no patience, as if everyone of them are the sole road owners, or someone like PM or higherups are waiting only for them. Growing / school going child or children are there in the car or on the road, what will they learn from all these habits of their own parents? Most irritating experience.
