With due respect to various AI systems which are designed, developed and in-use today by many, I have experienced a true new use-case of AI recently and hence this tiny write up.
AI systems are based on true requirements and they provide the best solution ever, effectually and quickly. Such systems generally and usually based on empirical data, training using sample data, previous experiences, various analysis modules, storage and retrieval of data / information facilities and what not.
These systems usually work as directed, they keep learning and new learning is also again stored so as to re-learn if required, or use it in future training / testing etc..
But what if something suddenly pops up as new thing for this so called intelligent system, will such system be able to handle any unusual / unexpected situation(s)? According to me "big no".
Allow me to narrate an extremely tiny incident happened with me or experienced by me yesterday itself. So I was at office with painful leg, awaiting to take out x-ray and meet ortho for the possible leg's solutions, booked cab, so that I will reach early as compared to bus. Also cab will pick me up from the gate itself vs for bus I need to drag my leg for a really long patch. The moment cab was booked, I got a call from the driver to know my exact location and I was saying buy to my office receptionist. While I was on phone with the cab guy, she immediately picked up the intercom, informed front gate security about my injured leg so that security will allow my cab to enter inside the campus. Wow, her actions were so sudden, she never waited for any requests or commands, I was thoroughly impressed. So sweet of her, i thanked her and started with my tortoise speed towards cab.
According to me all those AI systems also should replicate such behavior to be called as true-systems. Like my office receptionist, immediate action, quick thinking and no dependency on empirical data or training, to behave like a human being who are intelligent, not artificially, almost all of them are, as per their capacity and need.
