About 2 years ago when we all started exploring online platforms, especially Microsoft Teams, I was totally lost. Yeah, but never given up on it, started exploring more with my IT peers and Google-baba to gain confidence. Every online class was recorded for future access and proof. Once the online class was over, it was necessary to download the recordings. During the initial phase, all the recordings were made available by Microsoft on their dedicated portal. There was an option not to upload recordings on the portal automatically and rather after few days itself that scheme was no longer active. Then the other option was to wait and see the recording visible on Team’s Posts section for specific duration to download and share with students. The file used to get downloaded in download folder of local machine but used to take lots of time. Abrupt closing of session used to add issues and delays too, in this download process.
From past few days what I am observing is that the class recording is shown immediately after the class in the Posts section. The moment I click on it, it is opening in the new browser tab by default and after pressing download within “blink of an eye” the entire video is made available on local storage. Superb enhancements done, with increased speed and quick actions too.
Is it really needed for such tech giant to work on tiny thing like automatic downloads of recordings? Absolutely no, but they are still doing it, isn’t it wonderful and huge learning for people / everyone. Sensing the need and working on it is the key of success, customer engagement, innovative approach and satisfaction too. Every individual should always keep updating and try to become a giant in their own world.
