I am thoroughly impressed with the most unique initiative taken by Whisper for this society and is a need of an hour and was too, but yes, it didn’t happen before and its happening now is itself a wonderful news. They are hoping and I hope too that the picture will be different soon. But still you know what since many years or generations in other countries the partner / husband is allowed or should be present in the OT / delivery room is the key thing. And is followed religiously rather the partners take lot of pride, some of them wish to capture those moments in varied forms. Since 2005-6 if I am not wrong this practice is followed and started / initiated in our Des too and many who have the experience of traveling around the world or who read the articles welcomed this change and are participating too. I don’t know what was the motto behind this, but according to me the sole purpose is to educate men about the entire process and pain the girl / partner or wife goes through in that room for hours. And they should remember this forever and respect that partner always. So all these initiatives are taken so as teach, showcase or demonstrate the live situations and many a times pain which is involved. But it is observed on large scale that such initiative remains only initiatives, men take part and might feel the pain but thereafter its not reciprocated or remembered, its not visible in actions, never. Ofcourse there are outliers / exceptions in all the domains, but by and large no use. That doesn’t mean organization like Whisper should not try and keep hopes but don’t know what is actually needed for a quick and forever change to implement. Today I read one line in cartoon, it said “the people who are not wearing masks should be given a punishment to stay in hospital for min 2 hours”, one of teachers used to say to all those who used to crib for food or amenities “lets go to city / municipal hospital” and then we will talk about quality of food / amenities etc. Hope this initiative will prove a pride in the entire gals life of this society for sure and it will leave permanent effect too, not temporary. There are many multinational corporations who are coming up unique vacations for gals during their period days to put a full stop to unnecessary pain and discomfort, a good move indeed, much appreciated.
