The heat wave started a bit early this year, in February itself. Hence requesting all to cool individual-self from within. Here is how:
- Keep hydrating and opt for
buttermilk, lemon water (nimbu pani), coconut water (tender coconut),
sugarcane juice, raw mango drink, etc. without ice or avoid chilled
beverages from the refrigerator.
- Use ample simple drinking
water from a clay pot, naturally cold; again, truly and sincerely avoid
fridge-cold water or artificially chilled water.
- Eat seasonal fruits or veg
which are high on water contents, required vitamins / minerals etc
including watermelon, sugar melon / cantaloupe / mask melon, cucumber (as
per your taste and availability) in their normal form, no chilling again
- Eat curd or add dishes or
eatables which will help you cool down (may vary from person to person,
place to place also)
- Wear proper light or
pastel-colored cotton cloths.
- Be inside the house,
college, or work place; avoid stepping out if not required.
- Use fan or max cooler but no
AC if possible
Last and most important, just try to remember that you are in a much
happier and healthier place than many others who need to work under this hot
sun consistently. Absolutely no comparison, but self-talk may be useful to cool
you down from within.
