The other side of the coin

Being a free bird now, I recently went and attended one of the weddings of my best friend's twins. Barring the very few known people around, I met and mingled with a new group of girls there. The span of that marriage was for a week, but I could attend only a few functions. The group of girls were there throughout for the entire span, being localities and with each other for their whole lives. I was an outsider, a great listener and observer, and my sole agenda was to enjoy marriage events, new trends, food, decor, and many other things.

Unexpectedly, a new topic popped up in front of me, and being a complete newbie to that group, I just silently absorbed whatever was possible. To cut a long story short, the group was discussing "I am jealous of his cigarettes". Middle-aged girls talking about this was new and news to me for sure.

According to them, they were focusing on the other side, the girl's side, and not the boy's view, as mentioned in the same-titled song. Till then, I was not even aware that such a song existed. The song was narrated and sung by a boy, it seems. These girls were focusing on she the cigarette spending more time with him, on his lips, so close, and during that short duration of her life or puffs, they remain with each other only for multiple times a day. I was glad to then read the original lyrics, and I am still trying to digest the ultimate truth spelled out by the entire group, as if they agreed to it together. I am truly speechless, indeed.

I wish to extend the same feeling based on multiple write-ups about other non-living things too, including mobile phones, computer systems, and many more.
