1991: Love, affection, utmost care

I feel privileged today as I was a part of uniquely different vibrations getting spread by Dr. Gokhale in NIRPO's founder's day event. He, along with his wife, son, and daughter-in-law started the Mayacare Services, which is now a foundation. They provide free services to senior citizens in various forms. Many volunteers work for this foundation as external and internal members. Most of their tranied people who are now placed with their foundation are specially abled, but still they run the show with great motivation, consistency, and utmost energy levels. I think he narrated that around 20 special youngsters are working as external members and 40+ as internal members. In addition to that, there are many senior citizens who work for this foundation. Dr. Gokhale is primarily a sports enthusiast (a cricket expert who still plays tennis every day and one more sport), child specialist, linguist, writer, and he wears many more hats. At 86, he still works more than full time for his foundation, which is running 74 different centres all over India, one outside India, which was recently started, and many services are provided at the comfort of a senior citizen’s home itself.

In his autobiography he said “वेद नाही वाचला तरी चालेल पण वेदना निश्चित वाचा”.

It's impossible for me to jot down one blog on Dr. Gokhale, his dedicated work, his hobbies, his expertise in mental health work, etc. I am truly running out of apt words. Hence, we are kindly requesting you to visit this foundation’s very informative website and see if you can be a part of it by volunteering your valuable time, energy, skills, or in any other form. During his speech today, he said if you have a leakage problem in, say, a bathroom, you immediately call a plumber. For any other household repairs too, there are plenty of on-call services available, but if you are in need of love, affectionate care, passionate affection, call mayacare foundation at www.mayacare.org
