Recently, a world-renowned researcher and author, a master analyst of the Indian music industry, shared a series of inspiring true stories on Indian Idol 16's platform. He narrated a chilling yet touching incident about how a legendary leading singer was once hospitalized after being diagnosed with slow poisoning. A close friend and admirer, determined to keep that star shining, began tasting her food every single day before she ate.
What a profound example of friendship!
I learn so many real-life stories like this from those who actually lived them. To me, this show is not just about the current contestants who will become the stars of the future, or how they twist songs to make them future ready. It is much more. The thoughtfully chosen guests of honor take us on a walk down their memory lane, sharing the history behind the melodies.
I get to enjoy all three tenses, Past, Present, and Future, from the comfort of my cozy couch. Where else can you find the orchestration of all these periods under one roof?
In the past, I used to feel angry or agitated when people asked me two specific questions. Today, I no longer feel that way because I have my answers and I plan my time well to enjoy the show at full length. Those questions usually go something like this: "Why do you watch these reality shows? Everything is fixed and you can't even sing a song yourself!" and "What do you gain from such bad shows? It is only because of free people like you that these shows keep running."
I have put those questions into the most postable words possible, as the actual words used by critics are often much harsher.
But here is my truth. I do not just watch a show; I gain a series of life lessons. Every episode gives me so much material that I could literally write a series of posts. This is simply the way I look at it. This is me.
