2386: A Slice of Heaven: Of Thrones and Kind Souls

Lately, I feel like I am truly treating myself from every possible perspective. I am currently enjoying a newly purchased "Sinhasan", my very own throne!

It reminds me of a popular joke I heard often, where a husband or in-laws ask a wife, "What do you do all day?" and the classic answer involves relaxing with the two cylindrical bolsters gifted by her mother during the wedding. Interestingly, no one ever asked me that, but when I recently purchased a new sofa, it came with two bolsters automatically. Now, those two are the perfect back support for my "special throne."

In reality, this throne is a special cushion set up to support my back, as suggested by my physiotherapist. My days are now a rhythmic cycle of self-pampering and healing: daily physio sessions, the throne, hot water bags, ice packs, specific exercises, nourishing medicines, and a strict timetable. It is a lot of "me time," and I am embracing it.

Since I love shopping, I usually walk to my physio and use the walk back to pick up fresh fruits and vegetables. Today, however, as I was walking back in the suddenly rising heat, a cab went past me, stopped, and took a reverse. The driver invited me inside, it was my neighbor!

What a sense of peace and relief it was to step into that neatly maintained car. The shade of the roof was a blessing, and the "cherry on the cake" was when he switched on the AC. After the physio session and the walk, it felt like absolute heaven.

I am almost at a loss for words to thank him. He dropped me right at the entrance of my home. While the distance might have been tiny on a measuring scale, at that moment, it felt like I had miles to go. This small, caring action from a kind soul gave me a huge, heartfelt reaction. God bless him.
