धून बदलके तो देखो...

Yes, we hear this uniquely sung tagline by BigFM singers at our Pune Radio Stations everyday. The stress on the word Dhun is out of this world, and fills the day with sparkles. The rock-solid idea behind this tag line is by RJ Sangram. For me, he is the eminent personality and great RJ, his voice, his spontaneous talks / chats are good to listen, for self-motivation and they are energetic, for sure. I meet him everyday on air, virtually, and today I got a chance to see him live at my Symbiosis. Loved it. Sharing space along with all aspiring engineering youngsters gave me a feeling of being young and “cherry on cake” was presence of Sangram amongst us. He came and he conquered... Experienced more than an hour of interactions only, heard thoughts of young minds and students participation was really mesmerizing. He initiated the discussion with a simple question for the audience including students, staff, faculty members etc. Rather his theme for today’s talk was about a question, that question which everyone felt important in their lives and was remained unanswered since the school days. He asked to shoot the answers about “Which is that one question which everyone felt the need that school should have covered, focused and discussed etc.?”. And the floor was filled with varied answers by students at large. It was really hilarious, entertaining as well as learning experience and we were waiting for the right answer from Sangram. The answers ranged from respect, love, passion, satisfaction and what not. He was really on fire, using great mix of typical Marathi and English, not only language per say but the references from literature, looks like he is a vivacious reader. Next question from him in the series was “whats the difference between human beings and animals?” again there was a heap / mountain of answers from participants. He then narrated one of the most useful case studies from the Hardvard University, which involved collection and monitoring of behaviour and data for a year from three categories of partakers, a group of members who were the winners of lottery or alike, the second group of members who met with a fatal incidence and the last once was termed as control group who neither were winners of lottery nor they met with fatal incidence, normal people. The study was about happiness from all these three groups and he quoted the actual figures too.

Overall mix of questions, interactions, laughter, importance of push-ups, focus on meaning of students names (very interesting side observed), and finally the take away was utmost importance of happiness in one’s life, always, no matter what the situation is. What a day, to listen to him live, really a thoughtfully designed induction program indeed by induction-team and marketing-team members of my SIT. His presence added colors for sure, and made a difference too, in my life and in freshers too.
