There is an article in the local daily Sakal narrating the annual gathering event at one of the schools in Pune. The annual event of school definitely includes parents as well, and hence the chief guest directed his speech accordingly. BTW, the chief guest here is the famous Marathi actor. The chief guest at that event said or used the following statements in his speech: "Today’s generation of kids is smarter than their age." "Let them do what they want to do."
My take on this:
-Today’s parents will never force their child to pursue any specific course.
-Even if parents force kid will not listen
-Due to Google University, unnecessary knowledge is available at the finger tips and hence kids may not know actually / frankly-speaking what to do or what they want
-Due to availability of so many courses, avenues and opportunities these days, kids may need help to choose the field and direction
-And most importantly, this chief guest should add something more to his speech, which, according to me, is more significant: "Every occupation is important; society and the world need doctors of all kinds, engineers from different domains, CAs, CSs, chefs, and the list is endless." Most crucial point is even if with lots of thoughts the course is chosen, what is the guarantee that once the course will start the kid will definitely like it? Once the graduation is complete the child will get to work with all friends, like minded people only and always? So if this is the reality, then why waste unnecessary time and energy until one gets confused while choosing the course? Individuals may check the distance, money involved and little about inclination regarding course, just go for it, accept all the challenges, get habituated to work with everyone around with happiness, learn to live with all sorts of people, rather we do it every time. Not only the course, but every project as a part of that course is important. Remove the word "confusion" from the dictionary. Keep doing, you will find your own way, niche way. Once an individual graduates, starts earning or while studying too you may keep your interest alive, who stopped you from doing that?. Rather, what are your likes? You will come to know that only when you keep exploring with baby steps, right? So just go with the flow and always enjoy; spread the happiness to make your world joyful.
