Ankur Dhama

I learned for the first time that there are visually impaired runners who participate and win medals. In today's Times of India newspaper, I came across the news about the uniquely different athlete Ankur Dhama, who is a runner and winner of medals.

In the news article, it is mentioned that Ankur needs a buddy to run along with. It required a minimum of two months of practice to gel well with the feet of both runners. I was only aware of writer given to visually impaired students during written exams.

Being a tech-savvy person and exposed to Siri-like voice help, I feel that voice-enabled tech help is feasible in case of visually impaired runners. According to me, visually impaired individuals' hearing sense is the best. So if the entire route or running track is already fed in, then it's easily possible to run with tech support instead of humans. This is just a thought to share. I hope Siri or Alexa, like Techie, will prove to be better help as they support almost all local languages too.
